Many of Amsterdam’s canal houses were built during the 17th century at the height of Amsterdam’s Golden Age. These town houses served as homes as well as workplaces.
The district where these houses are to be found is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Most of these houses are still private homes with some that have been turned into museums and five-star hotels.
This brick house is a Sentinel-Haus® project located in Thalheim, Germany.
The Sentinel-Haus® institute trains building contractors and planners in the development of buildings with the highest health demands.
The institute aims to develop healthy housing and promotes long-term investement in comfort and health. To do so, it sets clear threshold values for major indoor air pollutants with the respective limit value for VOC’s set at 1000 µg/m³.
